Andy Reeves FCCA – Director

Andy’s early career was in the banking sector but, after switching to accountancy, he qualified and managed at another small local practice in Worthing, before joining Botting & Co in 1998, and becoming a partner in 2000. Andy is a general practitioner with a wide ranging portfolio of business clients comprising of sole traders, partnerships and owner managed companies, and personal tax clients. He also oversees the practice IT and HR.

Andy is  a cricket fanatic and he has played for his local team, East Preston, since his teenage years. He still plays up to thirty games a year, and is heavily involved in the running of the club, as 2nd team captain and treasurer.

Having grown up in the “punk” era, Andy sees himself as a young John Peel, always on the lookout for new bands, and regularly attending gigs in London, Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton. Most people have never heard of anyone he goes to see!

Any remaining spare time is devoted to travel to exotic destinations, with the emphasis on wildlife, particularly in India and Sri Lanka. Obviously, if this is combined with a visit to a test match, so much the better!

Simon Wilkinson Bsc Hons, FCA, FCCA – Director

Simon qualified as a Chartered Accountant with medium sized, London based firm, Stoy Hayward in 1991. He joined Botting & Co in 1992, when his extensive audit experience and expertise was invaluable in helping the firm comply with the new audit regulation regime that was introduced at that time. He has continued this role as the firm’s principal audit and compliance partner and oversees all assurance work.

Simon enjoys building strong working relationships with his clients, specialising in providing services to owner managed businesses of all sizes and is particularly proactive in helping clients maximise profits while managing exposure to tax. He is the firm’s principal tax specialist with particular emphasis on tax efficient business structures and profit extraction policy.

Outside of work, Simon is a fanatical fan of Arsenal football club and played himself until time caught up with him a few years ago. He is now a keen tennis player and runs in long distance races up to half marathon level.

Jo Hicks FCCA – Director

Jo qualified as a Certified Chartered Accountant in 2004 having started her career with Worthing based firm, Carpenter Box and completed her training with Arundel firm Pro-Opt Accountancy, where she became the firm’s principal client and staff manager. She joined Botting & Co in 2007, when it acquired the client base of Pro-Opt Accountancy and became a partner after the acquisition of AYP Accountants in 2017.

Jo has been at the forefront of integrating the new clients and training new staff taken on as part of our expansion. Outside of work Jo enjoys travelling and spending time with her young family.

Hannah Hill FCCA – Director

Hannah worked in the commercial sector, where she studied and passed her AAT exams before joining the firm in 2008. She has subsequently made rapid progress through the ACCA exams and qualified in June 2013.

Hannah became a partner in the firm in 2017 having undertaken all her training in the firm since joining in 2008. She is the firm’s IT manager and has been responsible for implementing new technical services such as making tax digital and auto enrolment. Hannah enjoys reading, water sports and cycling.

Natalie Tilley – Senior Accounts Assistant

Natalie joined the firm in 2004 having gained significant previous experience in a number of other professional legal and financial organisations including a period of employment in the banking sector and a trust and probate department and through undertaking studies in the Accounting Technicians programme.

Natalie has considerable experience in practice and provides, accountancy, bookkeeping, VAT and taxation and IT services to a range of business and personal clients. She enjoys skiing and travel and also has a keen interest in collecting and dealing in antiques.

Amanda Hubbard – Senior Accounts Assistant

Amanda joined the firm in 2005, after studying Mathematics at Surrey University, and a short period in the hospitality sector.

She has subsequently obtained significant experience and technical skills in a wide range of practice disciplines, particularly accounts preparation for all types and sizes of business, payroll, VAT and business tax. Amanda has specialised in the property management sector while preparing service charge accounts for flat management companies and service charge funds.

Amanda has studied and passed her ACCA intermediate exams.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys cross-stitching, reading and walking.

Tom Reeves – Accounts Assistant

Tom (Andy & Emma’s son) is currently working towards his ACCA qualification having passed his final AAT exams at the end of 2020.

Tom’s main interests are music and sport. Away from Botting & Co he runs a club night called Missing People which showcases a wide range of electronic music. Tom is a keen runner & also enjoys playing football & cricket locally for West Chiltington & East Preston respectively.

Mandy Tulley – Accounts Assistant

Mandy initially spent 10 years in Corporate Banking based at Canary Wharf, London.  After a move to West Sussex she then worked in the car leasing sector providing management information and bespoke reports to clients and government. 

Mandy now works as an accounts assistant having joined Botting & Co in the Autumn 2017 and completed her AAT qualification in January 2019. Mandy is a keen runner having completed a number of marathons and also enjoys walks in the country with her family.

Calum Goodsall – Accounts Assistant

After his A-levels in ICT, Geography and History, Calum worked in the Finance Department at Chichester College for five years, where he studied for his AAT qualification, passing in 2017. Calum has since embarked on further study, and recently passed his ACCA qualification.

Outside of work, Calum enjoys playing and watching football, currently playing for a 6 a side team. He is a Portsmouth FC fan, and likes to attend as many home and away games as possible during the season.

Jane May – Accounts Assistant

Jane gained her AAT qualification in 2000, and subsequently spent 10 years working at an accountancy practice in Worthing. Since then she has been working in industry for manufacturing companies and, more recently, has been working in the charity sector, gaining a wide experience of bookkeeping and accounting procedures. Jane returned to general accountancy practice in October 2019 when she joined Botting & Co.

Outside of work, Jane enjoys reading, gardening and going on long walks with her two dogs.

Emma Reeves-Luker – Administration Assistant

Emma (Andy’s wife) qualified as a florist in London, before working as a Teaching Assistant in a local school for 12 years. Since leaving there in 2012, Emma has become a gym fanatic and attends classes several days a week when she is not in the office, and has recently taken up running and cold water sea swimming.

Like Andy, she enjoys travelling around the world, but likes to return home to be with her pets – rabbits (varying numbers), chicken and tortoise.

Julie Tate

Julie has previously worked in the finance, share registration and property industries, most recently spending the last 12 years working within the shipping industry in the city, but following a move to West Sussex decided to give up the long full time commute to spend more time with family and work part time, joining Botting and Co in November 2021.

Outside of work Julie enjoys dancing, running dance clubs and socials with her husband. She also enjoys walking, gardening and cycling.

Michele Bliss

Michele joined Botting & Co in April 2022. Originally from Putney, London she then moved to Epsom, Surrey, where she stayed for 25 years, and after raising and watching her two grown up children fly the nest, recently moved to West Sussex.

She has worked in secretarial/administrative roles all of her working life, having started her career as an office junior in London and thereafter working in various different sectors including Market Research, IT, Interior Design, a Medical Practice, Estate Agents and a Secondary School.

Outside of work, Michele enjoys open water/pool swimming, walking and cycling and has recently completed her first ever half marathon. She and her family are also fanatical fans of Fulham Football Club.
